The Abby Outdoor Initiative, Inc. works to remove financial and access barriers so individuals, schools, and communities can experience the physical, emotional, and educational benefits of time spent outside.
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Delaware County Pennsylvania that provides outdoor opportunities to families and individuals who might not otherwise have the chance.

We are looking for a new volunteer Board Member to help guide the mission of Abby Outdoor Initiative, Inc. If you are passionate about expanding access to outdoor education, apply here.
Inspired by a love of nature and a belief that everyone deserves access to outdoor spaces, The Abby Outdoor Initiative, Inc. provides scholarships, gear support, and funding for outdoor education programs.
We partner with families, youth groups, schools, clubs, and community organizations to build a more inclusive outdoor community.
How It Works
We make applying for assistance simple and accessible.
Submit an Application
Tell us about your course, trip, or program and what type of support you need.
Application Review
Our board reviews requests monthly based on need, impact, and mission alignment.
Award Notification
You’ll receive an email once a decision is made.
Funding Provided
Support may be issued directly or through reimbursement depending on the request.
What We Fund
We support a wide range of outdoor experiences, including:
Outdoor education programs
Rock climbing, paddling, and hiking courses
Mountain biking, skateboarding, birdwatching
After-school nature programming
Youth group and club adventures
Community-based outdoor initiatives
Gear needs for safe outdoor access
